These last three events for the year are three very diverse locations. Texas, where my heart always feels just right, Florida that is always an adventure into the unknown to me, and back to California, my home of 30 years.

I have embraced the beauty of imperfection for two decades. My intention with this book was to demonstrate the perfection in the imperfection. However, why I am most proud of this book is in the story telling and I do hope to continue down that path......
Once these events are complete I will return back to my nooks of inspiration to continue my love and commitment to creating and communicating whimsical, comforting and meaningful goodies in life.

I look forward to seeing all of you that can make any of these events....and those of you who cannot, there is more to come.
Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Interiors can be purchased at any of my 3 store locations.

There is nothing more that I like doing than curling up in my comfy armchair with a cup of coffee and re-reading this book. I go to it time and time again for ideas and inspiration for our own home.

ReplyDeleteI have this book and LOVE IT! I think it's closing in on my favorite of your books.
On another note...do you know if any of your TV shows from a few years ago are available on DVD? I was never able to watch because it was on during my workday and I've not seen any reruns. Please let me know if I can buy them. :-)
I have my copy... was delighted when you came out with another Book. I have them all and enjoy re-reading them, being inspired by them and losing myself in the beautiful photography. I will look forward to any future publications and the evolution of Shabby Chic...
ReplyDeleteDawn... The Bohemian
I was reading the other comments and it came to mind that I remember seeing a program on TV of when you and Jennifer Lopez were creating the amazing process of transformation of the building that was to house her fabulous restaurant "Madre's". Sadly, it has closed before I ever got the chance to visit... and I was wondering if that program was available on DVD as I'd LOVE to purchase a copy? I've searched and never been able to find it. *le sigh*
ReplyDeleteDawn... The Bohemian
You are awesome and look forward to everything you do.Always waiting for the next book or creation! Keep it up! Look forward to seeing you in Nipomo. I wish you gave more talks like you did in Vegas.

When can we expect new line in Target?
ReplyDeletethat painting is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI just come back yesterday from London where I was with my husband for our 10 years of mariage , I made this surprise for him, 3 days in London, and of course the first thing we did was to go to your store ! My husband offers me the union Jack pillow and the "You are all right" one, I wonder what is the story of this sentence ! but I'm happy to have these Shabby Chic pillows wich means also for me 10 years of love !
ReplyDeleteRachel, When can we expect a new line at Target? I was there recently and many items were being discontinued.
ReplyDeleteThank you for everything that you do, so very beautifully! Best Wishes, Kenda
Love all!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKisses from Spain!
Check out my jewelery!
Could somebody please tell me if there is a difference between shabby chic and french provincial?
ReplyDeleteHello from Canada...love(and have all your books)tell me is there a way to order some of your products and do you ship to Canada? Would love to know, thanks! All the best,Chrissy
ReplyDeleteI too...love to roam, but I love to return to "My Home Sweet Home". My sister & I love all things old & are always in search of a new "Old Memory". Tomorrow I'm going to buy your newest book!
ReplyDeleteShabby chic is a white chippy style, homey comfy etc can be with any style of furniture antique, old, new etc. Some people are even using soft blues, turquoises, yellow, pinks etc as shabby chic. French provential is a style of furniture like modern, traditional, spanish etc. If you google the two you most likely will get pictures to look at. Alot of people use french provential in the shabby chic style meaning they buy old french provential pieces and paint and finish them in that shabby chic look. So I can see there could be some issue with figuring that out. french provential has been around a long time and can be found in a white with gold finish, dark etc. Rachel created the Shabby chic by taking what she loves and making it comfy and practical for her everyday use with kids and pets. If you read her books you will see her shopping and refinishing furniture to fit her shabby designs. Very relaxing and calming style I think. I have loved her since her first book! Hope this helps?

Rachel, I adore your new book, I look at is so often... it is not only a GORGEOUS book with how wonderfully it was made... but also filled to the brim with inspiration. You are an inspiration to me as you have been able to reinvent your beloved name and continue on after hard times. It seems that life is full of those hard roads and is a lesson to all of us to never give up on our dreams.
ReplyDeletewishing you a lovely weekend,
Heather

ReplyDeleteI wanted to see the rayon dresses you were using as inspiration so I clicked on the image. I was told I had to register through Yahoo. After spending a good five minutes doing that, Flickr told me that the photo was private and I could not see it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a good idea to waste readers' time.
that's funny actually! I think the pictures are in the books
ReplyDeleteyou can see the dresses if you go to www.shabbychic.com and then to blog and then register and the dresses are shown on that blog about book signing. They show up so maybe like me you got side tracked to some other blog.... it took me a long time to get to the right spot when trying to register the first time.
ReplyDeleteRachel will you be designing or keeping some of the nightgowns and pajamas of the past? I have been trying for two years to find me a pair!!! Help WE LOVE THEM!

ReplyDeleteThe Target Simply Shabby Chic Elegant Neutrals Collection display now in stores features an iron bed in a room with a lovely stencil pattern on the wall. Is this stencil designed by Rachel? I want that pattern on my walls right along with the bedding featured. Most stencils are too busy; this one is elegant and simple - the perfect complement.
ReplyDeleteRachel,
ReplyDeleteI AM SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU AT ROUND TOP!!! I READ YOUR BLOG AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED MOM AND MY JOB TO REQUEST THE DAY OFF!! I too am a lover of all things old, soft, tattered, chipped and mostly, loved by someone in the past. I have all of your books and have been an avid reader of your blog. My tummy gets excited every year just thinking about what finds we might come across at Round Top/Warrenton, but this year, we will get the most yummy find of them all....YOU!! Looking foward to meeting you! Your two biggest fans from VIctoria, Texas!!
Your new book is such a treat. I just received it from Amazon and it has inspired me no end. Thanks.

Dear Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of your beautiful creations for as long as I can remember. I was saddened when your inventory was no longer available at the SoCalMervyn's department stores here in CA but delighted they are available at Target. However, I am worried. Most of the Targets in my area seem to be phasing out your inventory with big gaps of empty bins and shelf space. I also notice your bath collections are no longer available there. Are you no longer going to be selling your items through Target or is there, hopefully, a new collection on the way?
Best regards,
M.Kearns
I stopped by the library yesterday to pick up some books. I hadn't been to the library in two years. I ended up bringing home two of your books. Then realized that I have your blog on my favorites and didn't know it, and I actually use a duvet cover that you designed. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI guess I must really like your style. :)
Thanks for what you do.
